Martellus — Changelog

16 September 2026

Roster manager

The roster page has been rebuilt around the things that were awkward about it.

Moving brothers across the chapter. Dragging only ever worked between two

things you could see at once, which made moving someone from 1st Company to 9th

close to impossible. Click a brother to pick them up, scroll anywhere, then click

where they belong. A bar follows you down the page while you do it. Dragging

still works for short moves.

Finding people. A search box at the top dims everyone who doesn't match, and

a "Jump to" row links straight to each company.

Collapsing companies. Click any company heading to fold it away, and again to

open it. Each heading carries its own headcount, so a folded company still tells

you how many brothers are in it. There's a Collapse all / Expand all button, and

the page remembers which columns you had folded. Searching automatically opens

any folded company containing a match.

Appointments, without commands. Sergeants, squad posts, company command posts

and specialist division leadership can all be filled from the page. The lists

update as you move people, so pulling someone out of a squad takes them out of

that squad's sergeant list straight away.

Ranks. A brother's assigned rank can be set or cleared from the page,

separately from the placement controls. Clearing reverts them to the automatic

points ladder, exactly as the command does.

Who can and can't be seen. The page now states it plainly: how many people in

the server hold your member role, out of how many are in it. If a role was

renamed in Discord but not in the bot's settings, everyone holding it silently

vanished from this page with no explanation. Now the numbers say so.

Change log. A new setting records roster changes made on the website to a

channel of your choosing, naming whoever made them. A change made with a command

is at least visible to whoever is watching that channel; the same change made on

the website used to be visible to nobody. Off unless you set a channel.

Specialist divisions

A fourth leadership tier. Divisions now have a Brother tier alongside

Captain, Lieutenant and Sergeant, with its own wording and its own number of

slots. Divisions created before this change are untouched — the tier starts with

no slots until you give it some.

A cleaner /specialist. The old "Brethren" block duplicated the new Brother

tier and has gone. The division's strength now sits under its name, and anyone in

the division who holds no slot at all is listed separately — but only when there

is someone to list.

Campaign board — in testing

A new system for running narrative campaigns: Acts, Objectives, Strike Teams and

casualties. Objectives run in a fixed order, a Strike Team's membership is

tracked as a timeline so mid-operation replacements and real-life changes are

both recorded, and a casualty opens a gene-seed recovery operation on the same

map with the required modifiers.

It can be run from Discord or from a page on the website, and there's a

read-only board for everyone else to follow along. Casualty cooldowns are set by

an officer and accept fractions of an hour. An officer can also return a fallen

brother to the line early, which is recorded as the override it is rather than

pretending the gene-seed came home.

This is a trial. It's enabled on one server while we find out which mechanics

need changing, and it deliberately doesn't award any points — those are being

tracked by hand for now so the rules can change between campaigns without the

rank ladder chasing them.

Fixes

Verify and Reject buttons stopped working after a restart. Verifying a held

report that had been posted before the last restart quietly broke the buttons on

every held report until the next restart. One verification, and the rest went

dead with nothing but a warning in the log. Fixed.

Duplicate maps that couldn't be merged. A map could appear twice in

/mapstats with the same name and split statistics, and neither /fixmaps nor

/mergemap could join them. The cause was invisible: a doubled space, which

Discord collapses when it displays, or a non-breaking or zero-width character

pasted in from somewhere else. Both commands now match on what a name looks

like, so /fixmaps sweeps these up on its own and /mergemap can merge a name

into itself to catch its invisible twin. /fixmaps spells out what was hiding.

Editing divisions in /config could delete some of them. With enough

divisions, the text ran past what Discord allows in a form field. It arrived cut

short, and saving would have deleted every division past the cut. The field now

holds far more, and if a list still doesn't fit, the form refuses to save rather

than losing anything.

The Roster button sat stranded in the middle of the page header. It now sits

beside All servers where it belongs.

Recovery operations appeared above the objectives they came from on the

campaign board, instead of beneath them.

Smaller things

  • A "Jump to" sidebar on both campaign pages, matching the settings page.
  • Standalone pages can be switched on or off from the admin page.
  • Half-hour and quarter-hour cooldowns display as 30m or 1h 30m rather than

rounding down to 0h, which read as though the cooldown had already been

served.

  • The roster page now loads in a single database read rather than up to two

hundred, on a chapter with ten companies.

  • The two sets of persistent buttons now register independently at startup, so a

fault in one can no longer take out the other without saying so.

0.251.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the specialist divisions update. Command total: 84

Added

  • Export your records four ways. /export sends spreadsheet files, or a JSON

file that can restore everything. The same downloads are on your server's

settings page. A weekly archive can be posted to a channel or sent to the owner's

DMs, and the bot can keep a Google Sheet up to date on its own. All off by

default; set them up under Data export.

  • Report verification. When switched on, a logged report awards nothing until

someone holding a verify role approves it. The logger attaches screenshots at the

time of logging, so whoever verifies sees the evidence with the report. Rejecting

asks for a reason and posts it. Nothing needs undoing when a report is wrong.

  • /undolast can target a specific report. Paste a report's message link and

that one is reversed, rather than the brother's most recent.

  • Optional command posts. Companies can carry five, squads can carry two,

each named however you like on the website. They only appear on a roster once

somebody is appointed to one.

Changed

  • Automatic backups are gone. They were writing a database snapshot and an

uncompressed copy of the same data every six hours and on every restart, which

filled the storage volume faster than the records ever could. Use /export, or set

up the weekly archive.

  • /squad_remove can clear out a whole role. It shows you who it would affect

and asks for confirmation before acting.

  • Short rank names. A long rank can now use a short form in nicknames while

still applying its full-name Discord role, so Strike Team Leader can rename

people to [STL] without losing the role.

  • The /config menu is grouped. Points, tracked fields, structure, service

studs and titles each sit behind one entry now, which keeps the list well under

the number Discord allows.

  • Tidier profile buttons. They no longer wrap onto a second line, and the

page arrows only appear when there is more than one page to turn.

Fixed

  • /help and /helpofficer failed to send. The officer manual had outgrown the

size limit for a single message and is now split across two.

  • Reports were posting twice when verification was on, once without

screenshots and once with. The logger's raw screenshot message is also cleaned up

now rather than left in the channel.

  • The digest no longer stops at ten honors. Every honor awarded in the period

is listed.

  • Autocomplete errors flooding the log. A daily background check was blocking

the bot long enough for Discord's three-second window to expire on whatever

anyone was typing.

0.244.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the service studs update. Command total: 79.

Added

  • Specialist divisions. Named formations that sit outside your ten

companies: a Reclusiam, a Librarius, a Forge. Each has its own capacity, its own

Discord role, and its own three tiers of leadership with whatever you want to

call them, so the Forge can run a Master of the Forge, two Techmarines and three

Forge Initiates. A brother is in a company or a division, never both. Set them up

on the website, where each division gets a card like a company does, or in

/config.

  • /specialist and /specialist_setleader. See a division's roster, or fill and

clear its leadership slots. /squadmove now takes a division as well as a

company: moving a brother in applies the division's role, removes their company

and squad roles, and says plainly that they have left their company.

  • Joint operations with another chapter. /eventstart can name an allied

role. While that event runs, any report crediting one of your brothers alongside

someone holding that role earns each of yours a bonus. Allies earn nothing

themselves and gain no service record, but their part in the event shows on the

event leaderboard, and everything about them is deleted when the event ends.

  • Choose what appears on /profile. A stat your server doesn't track is now

left off the dossier instead of sitting at a permanent 0. There is a setting to

show them anyway if you prefer.

Changed

  • Honors read properly when several are given at once. The proclamation pairs

each honor with its own category rather than listing all the honors and then all

the categories. Putting the pair on its own line in the template, with a dash or

a bullet, stacks them one per line instead of running them into a sentence.

  • The /config menu is tidier. The five title entries now sit behind a single

Titles entry. Everything is still there, one step further in.

Fixed

  • /config would not open. The settings menu had grown past the number of

entries Discord allows in one list, and rejected the whole panel rather than the

extra entries.

  • Screenshots sometimes posted as empty grey boxes. When attaching them to a

report failed, the retry uploaded nothing. It now retries properly, and says so

if it still cannot manage it.

  • /help and /helpofficer. The officer list had outgrown Discord's limit for a

single block of text, and both commands could time out while opening a DM.

29 August 2026

0.241.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the True Solo and incapacitations update. Command total: 77.

Added

  • Service studs. The bot can now track how long each brother has served and

award a role at set milestones, by default at 2 weeks, 1 month, 3, 6 and 9

months, and 1 year. Add a line for anything beyond that, such as 2 years. The

clock starts when a brother reaches a rank you choose, or from the day they

joined if you leave that blank; anyone already in the server is credited from

their join date. Only the highest stud is kept, so a new one replaces the last.

  • Stud roles create themselves. Pick two roles and the bot makes each stud

role between them, applies it, and takes the previous one off. Roles can be set

by ID or by name, and it tells you if it cannot reach the spot you picked rather

than putting the role somewhere else quietly.

  • Approve before awarding, or don't. By default a stud waits for an officer

to approve it in a channel you choose, and the request becomes the announcement.

Turn on auto-award and studs apply themselves the moment they come due.

  • /service, /servicecheck and /servicestart. See time served and what is due

next, run the check now instead of waiting for the daily pass, or correct the

date a brother's clock started from.

  • /bestowmany and /revokemany. Pick any number of honors from a menu, across

as many categories as you like, and bestow them in one proclamation instead of

three at a time. The revoke version lists only what a brother actually holds and

asks twice before removing anything.

Changed

  • Honors read properly when several are given at once. The proclamation now

pairs each honor with its own category rather than listing all the honors and

then all the categories. Putting the pair on its own line in the template, with

a dash or a bullet, stacks them one per line instead of running them into a

sentence.

  • /profile shows more. Service stud and time served, incapacitations, and

True Solo runs now appear on the dossier, each only if your server tracks it.

  • Choose what appears on reports. Kills, items, incapacitations, objectives

and the gene-seed and armoury lines can each be hidden from the report embed

while still being recorded. A brother filling in every optional field no longer

produces a wall of text.

  • Clearer settings on the website. Every tracked field now has a readable

name and an explanation of what it does, as do the point values, roster role

lists and digest settings.

25 August 2026

0.237.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the squad bonus and multiplier update. Command total: 72.

Added

  • True Solo. A Yes/No field on the operation, siege and stratagem commands,

for runs cleared with no other players at all. Set a bonus and each brother on

the run earns it on top of the usual points. Off until you turn it on, and it

appears in the /ranks scoring breakdown once it is.

  • Incapacitations. An optional count per brother on the operation, siege and

stratagem commands, recorded like kills. It scores nothing on its own, it is

just tracked, and /adjust can correct it after the fact.

Both are switched on in /config under the new "Tracked fields: solo & incaps"

entry, or on the site under Tracked fields.

Changed

  • The brother field is gone from /operation, /siege and /eternalwar. Whoever

runs the command is always the first brother, so the field only ever repeated

what the bot already knew. Your own kills, items, deaths and the rest still

apply to you, and you can still tag two others. Officers logging entirely for

other people use /logop, /logsiege and /logeternalwar, which are unchanged.

Fixed

  • /adjust now applies rank roles. Adding or removing points that carried a

brother across a threshold changed their rank but left their Discord role alone.

It now applies the role, swaps out the old one and records the promotion date,

the same as a logged operation does.

24 August 2026

0.236.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the website update. Command total: 72.

Added

  • Squad bonus. Extra points for everyone credited on a report when more than

one of your people is on it, so running together is worth more than running

alone. Set the points per other brother, an optional cap, and which report types

it counts on, in /config or on the site. Off until you turn it on. Only members

and officers count towards it, so guests tagged on a report cannot inflate it.

Setting the cap to the same number as the points turns it into a flat bonus paid

once, however many turned up.

  • /multiplier. Run a points multiplier on one report type or all of them, for

a set number of hours or until you end it. So 2x operations for a weekend while

sieges, stratagems and Eternal War stay normal. Starts can be scheduled ahead in

server time, the same as /eventstart, and the multiplier is announced when it

begins and when it ends. Setting the factor to 1 clears it.

  • /multiplierend and /multipliers. End a multiplier early, on one report type

or all of them, and see what is running or queued.

Changed

  • Points per difficulty are editable on the website. Operation difficulty

points, siege sector points and siege points past wave 25 never appeared on the

settings page, because those settings are stored in a form the page skipped. They

now have a section of their own, with a box per difficulty, read from your own

settings so a new difficulty appears on its own.

  • Reports show how a score was reached. Where a squad bonus or a multiplier

applied, the report says so and shows the points before and after, rather than

just a total that does not match the usual figures.

23 August 2026

0.235.026.M42 — News and Changes (8/23/26)

  • A second ladder. Alongside ranks, you can now set a wargear

ladder: point thresholds that mark what a brother is authorized to bear. It

shows on their profile beside their rank, and on page 2 of /ranks. It grants no

roles and renames nothing, it is purely a record of what has been earned.

  • /ranks has two pages. The rank ladder as before, plus the new authorization

ladder, with buttons to flip between them.

  • Rename anything. Beyond the built-in vocabulary, you can now swap any word

the bot uses. Whole words only, and capitals are matched for you.

  • /imperialdate. Convert any date into Imperial dating, in either the day of

the year style or the canon year fraction. The site's front page carries a live

chronometer in your own local time.

  • Everything is configurable on the website. Colours, the rank ladder, honors,

company structure and every title can now be edited at martellus.app as well as

in Discord.

  • A proper setup guide. martellus.app/guide walks through the whole thing in

fourteen steps, with worked examples.

22 August 2026

0.234.026.M42 — Changelog

Changes since the honors-check update. Command total: 71.

Added

  • A website. Chapter settings can now be changed at martellus.app instead of

through commands in Discord. Sign in with Discord and you see every server you

administer that has the bot in it. Changes take effect immediately. Permission is

checked against Discord on every visit and every save, so access follows Manage

Server automatically.

  • Honors and company structure, editable on the site. Add or remove honors,

rename a category and its honors follow it, or add new categories. Company

structure sits beside it: a company can use the defaults, set its own squad count

and size, or drop squads for a single pool.

  • Your chapter's colours on your page. A server's settings page uses that

server's own configured colours and sigil rather than the site's.

  • Command index. Every command is listed at martellus.app/commands, split into

what any brother can use and what officers run. It reads from the bot, so it

cannot fall out of date.

  • News, posted from the browser. Updates are written one at a time on the site

and appear at the top of the news page, no document to maintain.

  • /botnews. Choose a channel to receive those updates in Discord. Only new

announcements are sent, so setting a channel will not replay old ones. Use

"/botnews off: true" to stop them.

  • Live figures on the front page, and an owner-only admin page with traffic and

per-server activity.

Changed

  • The champion fallback field now states its format, Honor, Role, Category, in the

label where it stays visible, rather than in a hint that vanishes once you type.
